Illustrated with nine line drawings and five photographs.
Ozasa is a place, and a state of mind. Here, we are in the middle of the city, and also on the edge of the world. There are very old trees, and deep red soil, and someone is always building something, and someone is always knocking something down. The poems and tales in this book are not all set in Ozasa: we travel to other parts of the city, and we imagine other places and other times. In every poem, every story, and every picture, there is an idea about life: that it holds on to the world with the strength of bamboo grass; that it always finds a way to come back up into the light.
