We actually like eating out…

However, there’s a simple reason why we find it difficult to eat out. (Let’s just say it’s a question of cash flow.)

But even people like us sometimes want to go to a new restaurant.
Last Sunday was the last day of an art exhibition my elder brother was in, so we decided to go downtown to Tenjin. To tell the truth, we don’t like to go to such a busy place on a Sunday.
Along the walking route we took on the way to Tenjin, we usually go to a hamburger steak chain restaurant (Chris likes the one with Japanese-style sauce, because he says it tastes less meaty), or to one of the major Kyushu noodle chain restaurants, or to a Kyushu-style ramen restaurant. However, before we left home we strongly decided to go to a different place, to a place we don’t usually go to.

Actually, when I was searching for lunch spots in the Tenjin area before, I found some places I was interested in. So the one I picked this time was a Latin-style café restaurant.
The restaurant is on the third floor of a building just behind a major electronics shop. We thought it might be noisy, and they were playing loud-ish Latin music, but it was also a comfortable place where even a few families with small kids could come. We were surprised. (We guess their weekday customers might be different kinds of people.) The interior had a hand-made look and red walls, and we liked the atmosphere. We like a place with a warm feeling more than a neat and stylish place. (We don’t even mind a place that’s a little messy. Of course it depends on how messy it is.)

I ordered the daily special, which was a pork and veggie stew with a tomato sauce, with a tomato soup. Chris ordered empanadas (they look like a pie) with french fries and green salad, also with the tomato soup. Even though he had an bad experience of eating a not-tasty empanada a while ago at an attractive café, he tried it again. The overall taste was a little salty, but we felt it was tasty. After we stood up, we also felt the portions were all right. We took a table in the smoking area by mistake, and we could feel good until two smokers sat down next to us.

Anyway, we felt that we won’t mind eating there again, which means that it’s a pretty good café restaurant.
As we were walking to the Prefectural Art Museum, we were saying that if we could often go to many restaurants, it would be great.
