The birth of a new Kuro?

Well, Kuro got the surgery yesterday, which means he starts a new life from now. The part that got the treatment looks like a pickled plum. Poor Kuro: his backside was shaved again. We feel that Kuro’s fur grows slowly. However, we don’t even know how fast Kyoku’s fur grows, so we actually don’t know how it should be. (We took them to different animal clinics, so they had different surgery methods.)

We asked how long it takes for his personality to change after the surgery.
The vet said it usually takes a couple of weeks. If other cats influence him, it may take about three months. In Kuro’s case, he has been in oestrus and in fights. So there are cats around him such as Icchan, who attract him, and Ryo, who provokes him, and the situation makes it take longer for him to calm down. So we think Kuro is better off being inside our house, but we also feel sorry for the stress he makes Kyoku feel, and we also may feel tired. For now we are thinking that Kuro should be a half house cat, and we’ll try to see what happens.

Ryo! (He is our neighbourhood boss cat.) You don’t need to compete for ladies with him anymore, so please make allowances about driving him away! (Kuro sometimes gets bullied by him. The relationship between Kyoku and Ryo was all right, though…)
