Today’s reaction to Hachitaro by Kyoku and Kuro
Kyoku still takes the long way around him. Kuro seems to think that Hachitaro is a moveable toy or something, and he runs him down to the corner of the room. Kuro may think it’s play, but what does Hachitaro think about it? He miaows, but he still goes up to Kuro many times, so he doesn’t mind getting beaten up by him. But I hope Kuro thinks about the difference in body size and strength between himself and Hachitaro. (Although I guess it’s impossible to ask him.)

Saturday, July 22nd
Finally today I could remove the dried brown milk stains under Hachitaro’s cheeks and chin, using a flea comb. I cleaned it after wetting his fur, and although I could remove some bits, his fur didn’t become white. Is his fur originally beige around there? Anyway, I could almost remove it.

Kyoku still avoids him.
But I got a surprise! I casually looked at them, and Kuro and Hachitaro were taking a nap side by side on the same pillow. It’s really an improvement! Do they somehow know they are brothers? Or is it that Icchan, who talks to Kuro through the window, said she gave birth to his junior, so he could sense ‘Oh, my kids are also like this’? Anyway, we feel Kuro has been getting less aggressive.

Sunday, July 23rd
We were a little worried about leaving three cats at home alone, but we went out.
When we came back home, they seemed to have spent their time by themselves. (Kyoku and Kuro still glare at each other a few times a day. And we worry about Kuro bullying Hachitaro, because he still doesn’t have a stable character after getting fixed changed his personality.)
Anyway, we are always impressed by Hachitaro’s great appetite. How many times do I have to feed him in a day? It becomes quite a long time in total. I hope he sleeps more. I really respect all mothers. (Of course there are always exceptions.)
He drank a lot of milk, but he didn’t do poo yet today. I gave him a massage many times. Hope for tomorrow.

Kyoku sometimes sniffs Hachitaro, but he still doesn’t come close to him yet. Kuro sometimes plays rough with Hachitaro.

Monday, July 24th
Hachitaro’s face has become like the kind of cute kitten we usually see. Has he become about four weeks old?
We expect that his weight will top 400g today. When he gets to be over 1kg, our electronic kitchen scale won’t work for him any more. We also have a scale for humans, but it’s not accurate at all. Should we buy a 5kg electronic kitchen scale?
Today, Hachitaro cleared climbing all the way upstairs. They’re carpeted stairs, so it’s easy for his claws to catch at it, but anyway it shows he’s growing impressively fast. He could climb only three steps yesterday. His running speed also became fast, although he couldn’t walk well one week ago.

When I used my computer and let Hachitaro sleep on my lap (if I wait until he sleeps, I can’t do anything for myself; even so I have to use the keyboard with only one hand because he chews my fingers until he sleeps), and Kyoku came on my chair between my back and the back of the chair, and went to sleep. I felt Kyoku has been sulky and avoiding me since Kuro and Hachitaro have been staying in the house, so I feel it’s a kind of progress. And then, Hachitaro woke up, and the short period of peace finished. Today Kuro also sometimes became a good (rough) older brother.
