Hachitaro News, 30 and 31 October

It got to be two months later than we planned, but we finally took Hachitaro to the animal clinic for his shots. We couldn’t tell if Hachitaro realized where he was going, but he was very quiet in the net bag in the basket. (The bag was used for Kuro and Kyoku when they went to the animal clinic. They tore it in some places, so I fixed them and we’re still using it.) For about twenty minutes on foot, he miaowed only once…?

While the vet was looking at him, he didn’t move. The vet probably felt at ease with him and opened the net bag. At that point we recalled Kuro’s terrible behaviour. (It was really scary for us.) ‘Wow! We forgot to close the door!!’ But Hachitaro was unexpectedly quiet. Phew!
The vet consultation and vaccination finished very quickly. We told the vet that he’d had eye mucous for a few days, and that he got a messy nose easily. He said that was because he still has a disease from his parents, and handed us a jar of syrup and eye drops.

As we were walking home, I said heartily to Chris, ‘The fee was really expensive as usual, wasn’t it?’
‘No, this time you win.’ (Referring to my recent medical fee.)
Yes, yes. I know what you mean.
