My right eye, after a detached retina and all that…

An Andalusian dog’s life
Part 0

Originally, I am a stay-at-home type.
Still, my eyesight isn’t stable yet, so I can’t see well.
I get tired easily. (Since this summer, I haven’t been active, so my poor physical strength became worse?)
I can’t take the bus or ride a bicycle. (For about two months after the surgery, until my right eye condition settles down, I must be careful not to get shaken up.) And so on.

For all those reasons, we haven’t had many events, and I noticed that recently I’ve only written about our cats’s story, Hachitaro News.

This summer, I was able to have the unusual experience of four surgeries and two stays in the hospital, and I started to write about it. It might become a long article, so I will divide it into parts and update this category little by little.

My current vision is like this. I can’t show it accurately though…

I was told that the inside of my right eye after surgery will never be the same as before. That’s the way it is, I thought, but it’s better than going blind. However, I feel anxious about whether my colour sense will be strange even if the eyesight in my right eye can be adjusted with a contact lens or glasses in the future. And lines that should be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal are all wavy looking. Someone said this symptom will recover someday, but I’m not sure.

Now one month and six days have passed since the fourth surgery. Probably, the swelling because of the surgery has almost calmed down, but the size of the right eye when it’s open is obviously different from before. I think the shape itself became different. It’s eighty to ninety percent the size of the left eye, and I’m anxious about whether or not it will become the same as before some day. It’s still bloodshot. I could see a thread from a suture that I got in the third surgery, but it disappeared somewhere before I knew it. To tell the truth, my right eye’s appearance is not beautiful.

I said to Chris (bluffing) that I would get a terrible shock if I was a rare beauty and become like this, right? (Actually I got a kind of shock even though I am not a rare beauty.) Then Chris simply said not to worry: that my eyes were originally different sizes…
