It probably would have been postponed if it was planned for today

Typhoon No.5 has been getting closer to Kyushu.

Yesterday was sunny. Sultry and not windy at all. So the 45th Nishinippon Fireworks went ahead as planned. We went to almost the same spot as last year, and had bagels (which I baked in the afternoon without regard for the heat) filled with ham and leftover potato salad, and some cans of beer and sparkling water.

This time, we went there on our own, so we tried to take some pictures of the fireworks.
We don’t know why the results were terrible: is it because of our old camera, or our skill? How come the views were so different through our eyes and the camera lens!

When a lot of fireworks were shooting up at once, the photo was like this: because there was no wind, the smoke didn’t blow away. Even when we went back home, we could see smoke like a night fog.

My right eye trouble started about one year ago. Now I can’t say my right eye is completely the same as before, but I can still see beautiful fireworks (better than through the camera lens). I wear glasses, though. Anyway, I really feel happy about it.
But we saw a lot of abandoned garbage, and some girls wearing traditional summer wear with bad manners (they sat cross-legged on the ground) when we were on the way home. Aah, where is ‘Japan the beautiful’? (This is the Japanese government’s political slogan.) It was a complicated feeling. Hmm.
