It’s been a year

I felt like I skipped last summer.
I stayed in a hospital room, which meant that I spent most of the time in an air-conditioned room, so I didn’t get the chance to feel the summer was hot.

A year ago yesterday was the day I had surgery for the detached retina in my right eye.
I can’t say the condition of my right eye is completely the same as before. (The vision in my right eye became a little better, but some after-effects of the surgeries still affect my sight.) The eye became stable, so I can get proper new glasses and contact lenses. (I already went to an optician and ordered them, and I have been waiting to get them.)
A friend of ours who comes back to Fukuoka during Bon season visited me in the hospital last year. Now that I became better, finally I could go out for lunch with her yesterday. It is a bit of a happy event, isn’t it? (Although of course it’s just to do with me…)

Chris brought me this picture of our cats last summer when I was staying in the hospital.
Below that is a photograph of them we took recently.
It seems cats decide where they sleep season by season.
