We found them again

This past weekend was a long weekend: everybody got excited about Christmas events, but we didn’t do anything special. We decided to cut the fig-like trees in our yard. They quickly grow tall, and had dropped a lot of yellow leaves here and there.

It wasn’t our idea to plant them. They probably showed up thanks to bird excrement.

There are two trees. We cut one on Sunday the 23rd, which was a national holiday (the Emperor’s birthday), then cut the other one on Monday the 24th, which was the ‘substitute’ holiday.
They are big and have sticky sap, so it was harder than we imagined. If we had cut them earlier, it would have been easier, but anyway it was too late. We should have cut them when their leaves were still green, before they all fell! The tree’s fig-like fruits are kind of cute though.

We found two cicada shells during the work, again! (They were on one of the two different oak trees next to the tree we cut.) It’s one of our year end small quasi-events.
