This month’s gifts, part one

A friend of mine sent us a package of apricots from her garden tree!
In response to our impudent request that we wanted to make apricot liquor and apricot vinegar both, she got up on a stepladder in the dark after her work and picked them for us!

I made jam using the slightly damaged ones. It became a nice vivid colour. We guess it will be a good topping for yoghurt.

Apricot liquor is made with white liquor and rock sugar.
Apricot vinegar is made with black vinegar (kurozu) and rock sugar. I felt there was not enough vinegar and added in some apple vinegar.
I dried the apricots well after rinsing them, so I think they are all right, but some apricots floated on the vinegar and changed colour. I worry if they will be all right!?

Anyway, how will it all turn out?
(By the way, the banana vinegar I made in March became an unexpectedly tasty drink!)
