What is this?

Around lunchtime on Saturday.
It’d been rainy, and I decided to try making pasta for the first time!

The recipe said an egg for pasta is better at room temperature so I opened our refrigerator and took out the egg container. What!? Two thirds of the eggs got broken! When I brought them home, did I treat them roughly? But I didn’t recall them being cracked.

I was wondering if I should toss them or not, and anyway searched for information about it just in case. And I found a photograph of frozen eggs on someone’s weblog! I thought my eggs looked the same, and tried to peel the eggshell. I was right!
(I probably accidentally put the eggs in a cold part of the refrigerator.)

I didn’t have a long time to wait for an egg to defrost before our lunch, so I used an unbroken egg.
It was more like gnocchi than pasta, because it included mashed potatoes.
I didn’t have enough flour on the board so it got stuck and our frying pan’s Teflon lining had come off so it stuck, and I got irritated, but anyway our pasta (gnocchi? dumplings? or udon noodles?) lunch was like this!

The appearance was not so great but the taste was so-so with grated cheese!
We looked at the frozen egg after lunch, and it had defrosted like this. (Actually, this is a mixture of the frozen egg and leftover bits of the other one.)
I’ll use it for supper!

I heard Tasha Tudor passed away on the 18th of this month at the age of 92.
Just the other day, we went to see her exhibition. Now I think I should have taken more time to see it without saying I don’t like crowds of people.
