Summer, 2006.
My nearsightedness led to a detached retina in my right eye.
If I had left it, the eye would have gone blind.
A sudden stay in the hospital. Three surgeries under general anaesthetic. Complications arising from my condition, and a fourth surgery after that.
What became of my poor tired retina?
How did my husband Chris cope with it?
This is my detached retina diary, told in essays and drawings.
It is a greedily bilingual book!
